Anyone have the ATI 4.5# non-intercooled kit?

I had a powerdyne on the car before and loved it but it kept breaking. Now, I'm thinking of getting the ATI 4.5# kit. I know it doesn't have an intercooler and could damage the engine but I have an automatic and set the shift points down to 5200 which keeps the boost even lower.

I was wondering if I should get an external fuel pump with it (the kit does not come with one).

Why not just get an IC and run 6-7 psi? You can run that much and enjoy the full powerband. But you will need bigger injectors with a 255 lph in tank and a tune.

Where can I get such a cheap kit? I mean the ati with intercooler is like $4500(?) or so but without it's $3300. Can I get that FMIC for $400 with all pipeing?

Nobody makes a quick kit for both ati and vortech? Geesh, guess nobody wants the money.

Are there any pics of simple ones done that I can get an idea of what to do?

$900. Looks like fabbing is going to save me a least 50% over that. I found a piping kit on ebay but not sure if the bends will work. Are there any U shaped bends needed because the kit doesn't have those.

Here is one link with the 180 degree bends but I don't know where they bought it

There is a kit on ebay but the link is too long. Just type in camaro intercooler fmic kit on ebay.

Not sure on the hp but n20 seems to be alot more reliable in most cases but gets pricey filling the bottle.

save yourself a buttload of money and nightmares. go with a water/methanol injection kit....
and you wont need as much fuel as you would with a air-air or water-air intercooler.

BTW, that fmic from EPP looks sick on the TA

thats what i would say. i was running 6 psi w/o an intercooler for awhile. im jumping to ~10 psi now and adding a alky injection kit. you can get a decent one on ebay for about $300 or a nice progressive one for $500 and up. no messing around with piping and buying and fitting an i/c. i wouldnt fab up an intercooler for under 10psi, too much bs and extra weight to boot.

search "methanol injection" on ebay.

coolingmist has the cheapest kits. AEM has a bunch of kits on their for about 395. i think the aem kits come with a low fluid level sensor, flow/clog monitor and a progressive controller.

i got the coolingmist kit for 189. ill add the progressive system later as well as getting the flow/clog indicator....

my kit came with half gallon tank, but i used the windshield washer fluid tank because there really isnt much room for the tank unless you get the huge 5 gal tank and put it in your trunk. or it would be nice (and cheaper) to relocate your battery to the trunk and put the gallon or half gallon tank there.

just FYI, i just got a WB o2 sensor and have found that adding the meth water richened up my AF ratio A LOT. i started out my vortech system with the water to air aftercooler system so i used the supplied FMU and T-Rex inline fuel pump. I pulled off the FMU and its still really rich. im upping the boost so im gonna see how that effects my AF ratio. I may need to either use a smaller meth/water nozzle, or reduce the meth in my water/meth mix. i just thought id throw that out there because i think the fuel system requirements are a lot less when you shoot meth into your intake. just my observation. im sure other guys have a lot more experience with this stuff.....
