Another LT1 Boost turbo build

Build for a customer.

He was running a PTK kit with a GT45... he is upgrading to a kit I am making and a TC78 turbo. He wanted to keep A/C, and after talking with him at the shop and talking about his goals, we both agreed that running two SLP dual cat headers and keeping A/C was the way to go.

Should have no problem making 700-750rwhp. Some prelim pics of the hotparts:

Per the customer, DP will need to end up on pass side, so it will start on driver's side and run in front of oil pan to pass. side.

Nice work Jon I like the way you have the DP routed back under the oil pan and *I assume* back out the stock routing under the passengers side floor pan. Max ground clearance!

Thanks Jason. Yeah, that's the plan.

On a coupe car this routing will help - but on a Convertible the giant X-brace totally covers the transmission tail and REALLY kills ground clearance. Not to mention you don't have the issue of heating up the stock fuel lines and rear brake lines, which run right in that area as well.

A good routing if I do say so myself!

You're not worried about the heat warping those headers since they don't have a one piece flange? Just curious, I had a set of Mac headers like that and they were terrible.

They are multi piece flanges (which i think you meant to say - one piece flange is one big flange for all 4 primaries). I am not conerned at all, as the SLP flanges are super thick.

I know the flanges are thick and shouldn't warp, but what about the primaries themselves warping and moving the flanges ever so slightly?

Chris,

i am not too worried, but it is always something to keep an eye on. I have another customer with these headers now for a few years, no problems that I know of.

That would be great! I know you estimated 700-750, but have any pulls been taken yet?
