Another F1-A has arrived

When I arrived home this afternoon, I found not only my BS-3 system waiting for me but my long awaited F1-A on my doorstep as well. All I can say is it more than lives up to ATI's exceptional quality.

Here are a couple of pics:

What kind of heads and intake do you have on that. Nice motor.

The heads are LT-1 Trickflows with some porting done to them. I also machined them to accept the 1st gen valve covers. The intake is an Edelbrock EFI Victor for a 1st gen smallblock that I converted to work with the LT-1 heads. Also an Accufab 90mm throttle body and a T/B nitrous plate bolted to a 90* elbow on top of the intake.

Thanks for the kind words guys!...This has been a long drawn out project and it's finally starting to come together, so HOPEFULLY the motor will be in the car in the next month or so (maybe sooner if I'm lucky). There just always seems to be some unforeseen delay or hurdle that pops up. As soon as this thing is running and I real confident about the BigStuff-3 tune, I'm headed right for the track!!!(to answer your question Kelly)

Well, not knowing exactly how this thing will run, I needed a little "insurance" if you will. Not sure if I'll need to spray it, but it's nice to know I can put a 50-100 shot to it if I need a little help off the line.

Much to my dismay, I quikly noticed that I was sent the 4.50" blower pulley and a couple of 43" 12-rib belts. I was under the impression I had ordered the 3.70" pulley and the 42" belts. I'm not planning on spinning the motor much past 6200 rpms. I guess I'll have to wait until its on the dyno to see how it acts. What do you guys think???

I'm using a C.O.P. ignition with BS-3 and I plan on locating the coils on the radiator support at about the hood level.

THANKS! You WON'T be disappointed with the F-1! What are some of your other plans for your car besides the 383?

planning on doing an EPP FMIC, possibly a shot of meth to go along with it.

right now I'm keeping the SPEC Stage 3 clutch I have as I'm not going to be running sticky tires for a while. Once I get a 9" or 12-bolt under the car I'll get some slicks and a McCleod Twin Disk and go to town

Does Bob at EPP have a FMIC specifically for f-bodies? I wasn't aware. I built my own system and fitted the largest intercooler I could up front...still not sure if that will be enough. I will probably look into a water injrction kit as well.

Wise choice with the clutch, I have been running McLeod's Street Twin clutch for a little while now and think its about the best choice that's available.
