Alternator relocation

Alternator relocation

Somebody over at LT1 tech mentioned that he heard someone here relocated their power steering and alternator. Im mostly just interested in the alternator but if anytihng like this has been done by anyone here let me know. Thanks.

I relocated my alternator using the powermaster kit from Summit. You have to use their alternator though. It's about the same price as buying Madmans conversion kit though once the new alternator is figured in.

Can this be done while still keeping your power steering functional?

Actually yes you could as long as you don't have a supercharger or a turbo on the driver's side of the engine. Their kit allows for mounting on either side. Now if this is a road race application you could always drive the alternator off of the rear diff yoke, there are numerous mounting kits out there, but on an F-body you'll need some serious floorpan clearancing.
