93-97 firebird nose for FMIC...

Ran across this while looking around...

I don't know how much work it would take, but FiveStar race bodies makes a plastic noses for 93-97 firebird race cars that look like this...

The part number is 180-410W... The down side is that it's two individual halves, but priced reasonable at $105 if you could get it to work... You'd have to make something work for side markers, but otherwise I think they would be a decent alternative to hacking up the stock noses.

I'm sure you could modify it to work....just don't bump a curb

I wouldn't mind getting a set of those polycarbonate windows for my camaro

Couldn't you just take the stock bumper and cut out the fog light recesses and do the same thing?

Every one I've seen looks like crap... The fog light holes are also pretty small for getting air to a big FMIC.

I like the idea of using these noses with nascar-style stainless steel screens in the vents. I just don't know how well they would fit and how much work you'd have to do to brace it and make it solid.

Hmmm... don't think my bumper looks like crap... far from being "hacked up", and it's one piece too. Just takes a little time and a steady hand. It can be done.

No offense to your work... It' looks good...

But, personally, I still don't like it and certainly wouldn't do that to my car.

What other choice to do you have? That 2 piece bumper is not a good alternative in my opinion. More trouble that it's worth.

The screens also don't look as big in the 2piece bumper, and probably wouldn't flow as much air.

LT1-TA:

That's some great looking work, wanna do my bumper?

oh yeah sorry, I looked at the wrong name because he quoted your pic.

I actually just realized that I sold my Formula, and quite frankly, I don't think a camaro bumper will be hard to modify. I'll keep you in mind if I'm wrong though

Only other alternative would be to do an LS1 front end conversion. I don't hardly even notice my front end unless I look at it from ground level. It flows excellent. The grille material conforms to all the stock curves. I had reservations about mine when I saw other pictures on the internet but now that I took the plunge I would do it the same way again. My IAT's never get above 10 degrees over ambient. The extra air that doesn't go through the intercooler flows around the sides and ends up in the engine bay and also flows over the intake for the supercharger. I used to have a problem with temperatures rising at Idle. Gone. That plastic front end will be nothing but trouble. It is a hard enough conversion without having to fabricate supports for an aftermarket bumper. Just my Humble Opinion.

I wasn't trying to start an argument or anything... I just think it looks like you chopped a big chunk out of the bumper and attached screen instead of it looking like it was meant to be that way. just my opinion...

now, if GM had made this front bumper, there'd be no worries...

Yeah I'm not so sure I like that. Looks better with a screen in my opinion. Maybe I should just do what the ricers do and ride around with the front bumper off
