54cc heads with a blower?
hello, i have afr cylinder heads with 54cc chambers and i recently bought a ati procharger.i plan to run between 5-12 lbs of non intercooled boost.i found a set of blower pistons that are 8.88 to 1 with 58cc heads.what would this make my compression?i have a 355 complete forged bottom end. Will a blower work with such a small chamber?
Re: 54cc heads with a blower?
54 would put those pistons at 9.2-1, with no other changes. That is fine for a blower.
You could also do what I did and do a little chamber work to unshroud the valves and polish the chambers, which will also increase the size by 1 or 2 cc's.
If the pistons are down the bore some, that will also lower your compression.
Mine worked out to be right at 9-1, I am currently running at 16.5 psi on 93 octane thru a pair of small intercoolers; IAT's are 150 deg. at the end of the run.
You should be fine, with the proper fuel and timing.

My heads are 52cc, no defects noted.
Only means you need a big dish in the pistons to get the CR you need.
im running 9.1:1...makin awsome power
Re: 54cc heads with a blower?
I have afr 190 heads with 54cc chambers. I ran up to 9 psi with a 2 core on 350ci. It ran fine. Now I went to 28cc JE piston in a 383ci. Running 12 psi on 9.5_1 compression with a D1. Deck is @ 0.010". I will probably go to 64cc heads for 15psi.
