450rwhp - 500 rwhp?
Just a question, would the vortec v2 s-trim with intercooler be able to put me there, assuming that the motor is rebuilt with forged internals, lowered compression, maybe 9.x:1? (of course after tranny and rear are beefed up for it) I know bigger injectors would be needed. would the stock fuel system be able to handle it (with an inline fuel pump added). and the PCM would that be fine with that hp level? been doing a search and just trying to clear up a few things Im not to sure about. oh and I'd like to use stock head. if cam/valve train upgrade is needed. what cam would be good? but Id need to pass emissions. headers can go in, location of the cats doesnt matter as long as I pass the sniffer.

Will a V-2 S-trim / aftercooler be able to put you there? Absolutely!

LJ has run 9.90's at 140 mph with an S-trim/aftercooler set-up. This requires around 640 rwhp through an automatic.

Im just worried about any sort of detonation going on for whatever reason while running stock pistons and such. I figure I can at least use forged pistons/rods, new bearings, crank Im debating, I might opt for something by Scat.

the water for the aftercooler on the s-trim goes where the battery is normally located? I'd assume battery re-location to the back of the car is necessary. traction control would have to be relocated as well, anything else?

The Vortech aftercooler reservoir mounts behind the air filter up against the wheel well liner. There's an optional "ice box" that mounts where the battery goes. This gives you the option to introduce ice into the water system at the track...completely useless on the street.
