383 w/Vortech build?

Hey guys,
Not a new member, just got out of the F-body scene for a bit. Anyway, I am going to sell my 70 SS chevelle and buy a 95-97 TA. I have contacted speed inc about doing a 383 with a vortech blower. At $12K for the set-up, what kind of rwhp can I expect. I would like to see at least 600, but can I get more than that? Also, what does a 12 bolt cost and what would be the optimal gear for a set-up like that?

-Joe

Depends on which blower you go with. I'm doing the same setup right now with a T trim, no results yet though. A 12 bolt will probably run around $2500 or so with all the goodies delivered to your door. I'd stick with a 3.42 or 3.73 for street driving.

Why not keep the Chevelle and put a 600 hp motor in it?

Well because I am too afraid to drive it anywhere and let it sit i.e. work or to the grocery store. I want something that I can drive an hour away on the freeway too. I would be looking at @ 12 lbs of boost.

You're afraid someone will steal it? Lojack works wonders for that. Freeway driving would be fine with a 6 speed swap.
