383 build advice
I maybe getting a 383 shortblock to replace my worn 350. The owner told me its 10:1. I currently have a sn92 thats pushing 5-7 psi on the 350 but I know itll drop with the 383. My 3 questions are;
- will the 2-4 psi make noticeable gains with the new setup since its a higher compression motor?
-would I be better off going N/A and not have the SC putting more load on the crank pulley?
- should I stick with the CC276hr12 cam I have now in the 350 or should I go larger?
PS, I know the sn is too small and eventually it will be replaced but for the next 3-4 years its not in my budget

I'd go ahead and give it a shot. Should make more than 2psi all things equal except 33CI displacement. What is your current CR?
No need to worry about torsional loads on the crank snout at this level. Always a good idea to run a keyed hub though.
When I asked about running an A-trim when dropping to 9:1, ported heads & cam - I was given the same advice. Run it
