I rebuilt my 355 with stock crank and rods for under $1500. Its shorter stroke allows more rpm with cheaper components. Also longer stroke = more compression which is bad for blower motors.

im building a 369 turbo motor and i think its mostly a $$$ issue but the 355's put out great numbers!

355 , eagle rotating assembly with JE slugs
ported stock heads w/stock valves
ported LT1 intake
baby turbo cam (only 218/218)
12 bolt rear w/3.42
Gen 6 DFI
6spd/street twin combo
Gen 1 LT1 PTK kit with 76GTS /3" downpipe
13psi on 93 octane pump gas.
Car is a full weight 3680lbs all accessories are kept.

60ft 1.58
1/8th- 6.63@111.43
1/4- 10.17@139.90

This statement amuses me. Longer stroke does NOT necessarily mean more compression.

Is that your car Johnny? If so, very nice! I saw the post on forcedinductions.com about a year ago and was wondering what was going on with the car.

Nah not my car i have a 94 z28 thats a firebird formy im building a 396 H/C/I single turbo we will see how that turns out using the PTK kit
