224-336 and larger cams with M6+3.42

I am concerned with opinions on street manners with larger blower cams with 6 speeds and 3.42 gears. How does the 224-236-114 pull 6th (0.50) at 70mph?

I currently have the CC 218-230-114 with no significant tune and it suits my streetability requirerments nicely with the ability 'lug' the motor a bit at say 1500rpm. I'd like to try a cam bigger than the 224-236 but might shy away from anything that can't operate decently at 1500rpm; as would be the case with a 0.50 trans ratio and a final drive of 3.42.

BTW, I really dont want to stray too much from the 3.42's. Definately not larger than 3.73 and street hight tires.

If a particular cam was on the ragged edge of meeting this criterion would increasing LSA to 115 or 116 help.

Hey I'll be in E. Lansing this weekend visiting the GF's grandmother. I'll probably end up at a local bar watching the game. To answer your question, I am unhappy with the way my CC305 pulls on the interstate. I have 3.73's now. Its okay unless there is a slight grade and then the motor lugs pretty good. I am starting to think I should have done 4.11's. Especially since I dont drive much faster than 75-77 any more. I'd say you would want 3.73's at a mininum.

I'm running 231/240 duration @0.05" lift with 3.73 gear and a 12 psi ATI/ Spearco M6. I prefer this over the 3.42. 4.10 is to low for a blown car, and, with a 2.66:1 1st, It would be a creeper. 3.89 would be great.

Yeah I was thinking today about how worthless 1st gear is, If I had 4.11's I dont think I would use it much, just do the 2 to 4 shift. I think 3.90's would be great. Thats probably my personal sweet spot, or a .54-55 6th gear.

I generally pull around 10-12 inches of vacuum @ 70 mph with my 224/236. Stock 3.42 gears and T56. It doesn't really lug untill about 1200 RPM.
