Question 2 psi then nothing WTF??

Alrighty...I'm getting a reading of only 2psi on my guage, and it holds there for a couple seconds then drops to 0. I hose clamped all connections so no leaks. I also checked all of the discharge tubes and they are all tight. Could this be an intake manifold leak? Other problem? I'm confused, lol.

Have you double checked the belt to make sure its in good shape and its tight. My friend use to have this problem with his powerdyne to but he did not have a boost gauge but you could difinetly feel when the power came one can just kicked back off again. He tighten up the belt real tight and then hit it with some belt non slip dressing and it seemed to cure the problem.

You may want to give that a try.

Thx,
Claude

Hey 95 Silver TA, I'm the new lucky owner of your buddies setup. I saw a post from a long time ago about him saying that and so I grabbed a can of belt dressing just the other day. I should be getting my shipment this evening and installing this weekend.

But yeah blueTA, I was kind of thinking it sounded like belt slip too. Although you gave no information as to when it does this, or what setup you got so it's really hard to tell.

I know you are gonna love it....You really got a good deal, a Freaking AWESOME deal, superfueler, PCM and supercharger...Most new blower owners are stuck with the stinking FMU. I just hope your bottom end can handle it but you will love the power increase...

thanks,
Claude

Ok, I checked vac and it's at15@idle in Drive... 20 in park, so I don't believe it's an intake leak...Now, I wasn't thinking before and remembered that the belt I'm using is missing 2 ribs...it's skinnier then it should be So I'm going to get a new belt as I feel this is my problem...anyone know if there is any belt the local parts store would sell that would fit (6psi pulley) ? If not how much is another one from powerdyne? Thanks.

I'll be running it safe as can be so I should be able to keep her together. I used to run 150 shot of juice and the motor managed to survive that. At under 6k I doubt I'll even be seeing a full 100HP increase from this setup.

It's my daily so this setup is intended more for low speed sub 6k rpm fun cruising. I got a forged 468ci low compression motor on the way for another vehicle to do the racing in.

Also, it turns out his PCM is obdII so that wasn't exactly a plus in the combo but the charger and superfueler still make it worthwhile. I'd take the superfueler any day of the week over an FMU.

Anyway I'll be around this forum pretty frequent now. I've got the blown big block setup in the near future and my "new" little 6psi setup for the daily Z28.

nope...fixed the problem with a new belt...those powerdyne tensioners suck compared to the vortech I hade before...I had to tighten the bolts up snug and then use a hammer and cro-bar to hit it down and tighten it...
