160# injectors

How many of you guys are using these?

I tuned a fox mustang today with a set of 96's got the driveablity and wide open freaking awesomely perfect.. at 23# of boost it put 760rwhp down with a 77% DC. We actually had to go to a different dyno because it would spin the tires all over the small rollers. It took the large roller dynojet to keep it from spinning really really bad.

Then AGAINST my opinion they swapped a set of 160's in it.. It was so freaking retarded.. They where flipping out cause they where closed to the 80% mark and they wanted to spray a 75 shot.

I told them they where out of thier minds and if they wanted to spray anything bigger just get a wet kit and let the fast system control it. That way you can keep the decent idle and driveablity of the 96's.

Well the DC's fell to 34% and the car would run way rich then way lean with the exact same VE numbers and the O2' locked out. So i told them i was tired of wasting time on the cr*p when it was running perfect on the 96's.

Are any of you guys using them with any success? I knwo that the 9 sec lt1 used 96's.. I don't know anyone really using anything larger.

I've been through both. I had my 96's maxed on my early motor (1300hp) but, they were easier to get a handle on. The 160's are much different on the tune. I don't need it all so, I cut the base back to 30lbs (about 133lb/hr) It idles decent (13-13.4) but, needed alot of cleanup on the AE. I'm nearing 1600hp now so the DC is 97-98%. The curve still looks decent but, I'm about to raise the pressure abit to get the DC down. Hopefully, it'll stay reasonable @ idle, near 1.9ms now.

If the 96's worked fine....I'd go back to those and be happy w/ the driveability.

1.9 ms at idle with 160's???

With 84's, my idle is ~1.2 ms.

That doesn't make sense. . .

They're lowered to about 130lbs and I idle between 1000 and 1050rpm. About the shortest I can go is 1.6ms, maybe 1.5 before I get erratic fueling. The response time is close to 1ms. I have idled some 72's @ 1.3ms without issue but, these lazy ones won't go that slow.
