Lightbulb '04 Lightning intercooling System

I'm sure some of you guys have read about the '04 F*rd Lightning, and how the intercooling system will acually utilize the A/C system to cool a small amount of coolant that is fed to the intercooler for approx 50 second burts of increased power (much like the NX kit for intercoolers, but is completetly self-contained).
Unfortunately, F*rd has a patent on this technology (b*stards!), so no aftermarket company will be able to make this setup for a long time.
So, as my question states, who is planning on incorporating this system onto their blown F-body?

Its a cool idea (no pun intended) but the idea is nothing new. They just had the funds and resources to make it happen and to patent it. Keep in mind though other companies will be able to use the same ide but will have to change it enough to get around patent laws.

It was on the 2004 Lightning concept by the way. Its not 100% sure they will use it on the production model that is slated for 2005 I belive and not 2004. I dont think there will be a 2004 Lightning but I may be wrong.

The very simple way to explain it is there will be a seperate tank with coolant in it that will be cooled by the A/C. Keep in mind the Lightning has a water to air intercooler. SO this tank is seperate from the tank that holds the coolent for the intercooler. When you need that extra boost of power you can hit a button that will release the coolent into the intercooler reducing temps. Simple and effective.

I think he was just saying that they both cool down the intercooler in short bursts. But yes the similarities stop there.

Yeah, what he said. I just think it's a great idea. I know it isn't a new one, but it's cool that it may actually be produced effectively. They better hope it makes production, magazines are already printing it as a major feature, and as thow it'll for sure be produced.

I still don't like F rd, though.
