Who has the Bassani True Dual exhaust system
Who has the Bassani True Dual exhaust system
Thinking very seriously about getting this Bassani True Dual setup for my LT1.

Yes I know its nearly a grand but I can sell my Borla adjustable catback and cutout to reduce the hit.
My question to you guys that have this on a LT1.
1. Even though this is marketed toward the LS1, how well do the front pipes interface with your LT's? FWIW I have LPP's which are similar to the Kooks.
2. Where did you purchase it?
3. Any regrets?

That's up for debate.
To the the OP, I have no clue who sells it. Might try google.

If you don't need cats then it's a very nice system. My custom 2.5" mandrel
bent true dual system, with cats, cost about $1,200. If you want a nice
system you need to pay for it. I don't have long tubes so my system bolts up
in the stock location. This way I can use either SLP shortys or stock exhaust
manifolds.
I also prefer the custom system design where the left and right exhaust tips
each represent a cylinder back (rather than both together). Seems to sound
better.

IMO that system is actually a really good deal for the price. If you google it, there's a site that sells it for $788 (free shipping) for the aluminized version and about 1000 for the stainless version. You would have to figure in some cost for a shop to mount it and possibly modify it (depending on your headers etc.)
I wish I would have gone w/ this setup back when I did my exhaust last year.

When I had the manifolds or even the mid-tubes I would agree with you. Ever since I went long tubes it has not been the same. With cats, it was tollerable, but without cats it sounds like *** IMHO. Does not have the deep sound plus I get the rasp, drone and popping in th 2K RPM band.
I dont want to dump them at the axle. This is a fun car and not a race car and the sound would be too much. I must have a full exhaust.
I have also considered a bullet or a powerstick in the I pipe of the Borla. Has anyone done this?

In the process of designing mandrel bent true duals for my ride.
I am wanting to build a 2.5" pipe setup to ensure I get max performance without out going overkill for my engine specs. I don't think I really need 3" pipes to the rear bumper. I also want the ability to switch between catalytic converters and "cutouts" in rather short time when I feel the need.
The overall design will look very much like this $1000 Basanni setup, but better:

This is what I have in mind currently:

This is what I have in mind currently:
- 2.5" catalytic converters or "cutouts" right behind the collector that are easily switchable.
- 3" to 2.5" reducers to the 2.5" dual pipes with the X-pipe located just after the short TA mount.
- 2.5" in front of the x-pipe.
- 2.5" pipe back to the dual in/dual out Magnaflow muffler in stock location.
- 2.5" pipe from the muffler to each side under the rear bumper topped off with some nice stainless dual oval tips.
