I'm putting my LT's in soon and I just want to know where you guys are putting your o2 bungs. Are you putting them on the outsides of the collectors or the inside? Pictures would be great if you have any.

Hooker long tubes. Danhr, I want to know what side to put the o2 bungs on...I don't understand your response.

well if you ordered from summit, and got shafted like myself. They sent you two bungs for your o2 sensors, instead of the advertised o2 sensor extentions. (I'm assuming you are talking about the front o2 sensors). Seeing how the hooker should have come with o2 sensor bungs already welded on to the collectors. You have to extend the o2 sensor wires by either purchasing o2 extentions (highly recommended) or splicing the wires yourself (highly not recommended).

Correct me if I'm assuming too much on your situation.

Yep, you're a few steps ahead. The collectors didn't have any bungs welded into them. Used parts ya know. So I bought o2 bungs for the front sensors. I'm going to have the rears tuned out, but I do have sims for now. I just need to know where the bungs need to be welded for adequate clearance. Again, on the outsides of the collectors or on the insides?

that's wierd... all the hooker's I have seen came with bungs... are you sure you have the right part? I forgot to mention another thing summit did wrong was send me a set of hooker headers for a SBC, not an lt1. Those did not have bungs in them. The primary for your number one cylinder is a slip fit correct? It is not physically attatched to the collector?

To answer your question... physically outside the collector. on the side of the collector closest to the center of the car, and have it parallel with the ground

My headers do have the slip-fit primary on the driver's side. I haven't looked at them in a while, but there is a slip fit none-the-less. And to clear up my question a little since I still seem to be confusing you...I do understand that physically they go on the outside, but I was asking whether the o2's should be on the sides closest to the side of the car or on the side closest to the drivetrain. You did answer that part, but I just want to clear up the fact that I'm not a total moron.

yeah i was pretty sure that was what you were asking... but I gave a detailed answer nonetheless..... seeing how you see some really stupid questions on the board... like "how do I get my belt off"

I hear ya man, so you're saying put them on the inside of the collectors, being the side closest to the transmission/driveshaft/etc.

I don't know. It's been a while since I saw pics of the underside of a car with long tubes. Even when I did see a picture, I didn't think to check where the o2's were. But if you say yours are on the inside then I'll go with that. Thanks.

I'm *pretty sure* my o2 bungs on my Hookers are both facing towards the tranny and driveshaft and not the outside of the car.

The bungs on my Pacesetters are facing inside as well. I have seen some sets of Hookers without the 02 bungs, I think these may be an older style.
