What header do you guys personally like better?

I've been reading alot on the forum about the Pacesetter Headers
and Hooker headers.

I'm lookin to buy some LT headers. but idk what I should get, Hooker or Pacesetters. Do they have the same performance? Or is one better than the other? Whats louder, less maitnence etc. Thanks for the help!

PS LTs, i just installed mine, i've never worked on these cars before, all i can say is, they are a piece of cake to install, don't know about the hookers, but for the price, these PSs are well worth the money.

Performance wise and soundwise they will be the same. The Hookers however, have flanged ends whereas the Pacesetters are a slip fit style. The Pacesetters offer better ground clearance as a result. I currently have the Pacesetters right now. If I were to do it all over again, I would have spent the extra money and went with the stainless steel Kooks.

The Pacesetters are quite a bit cheaper, you can get the coated ones for around 430 dollars.

If I got the Hooker LTs, I would need that Small Y pipe to complete the exhaust?

I wouldn't get hookers. Sure they are a better quality header, but they have flanged collectors. My pacesetters fit REALLY good, and maximized ground clearence. Plus they are cheap.

ok, I should get the Pacesetters then, ( cause i'm on a low budget too...) if I get these do I have to get the ORYs? Can I still fit the SLP LM1s? with the installation kit? lol...I'm obviously a noob but I really wanna learn!

Yes, you have to get a Y-pipe. Go to customssi.com, they have the best prices that I have found... about 500 for coated LT's and Y-pipe.

The dimensions of the stock y-pipe don't even come close to mating up to long tube headers, that is why you would need the off-road y-pipe. It shouldn't be an issue mating that y-pipe to the LM.

For the most part, all LT's are the same, performance-wise. What is
really important is fitment and longevity.

True, I think I'm just gonna get Pacesetters down the road...but For now I'm lookin for a catback...either Hooker or SLP.

Or can I just keep my stock exhaust, take off the muffler and put on the SLP Lm shotgun resonator instead?

kooks

I got hookers before and a few of my friends have pacesetters. I have learned that a good quality header is worth it's money.

and don't bother getting coated. either stainless or uncoated.
