What do you suggest?
Hi all, I'm new here and I'm about to get my exhaust redone on my 78 Camaro and need some advice. This will by my first time dealing with exhaust.
What I have is a 78 with a vortech 350 roller cam and lifter, 4 bolt main, with a 794 cfm Rochester on top. I currently have a 350 tranny but will be putting a 400 behind it someday.
I've gone to a couple of shops, both owned by guys who have early 2nd gen Camaros, and have gotten different advice from each. One suggests I do Flowmaster 50s. The other says Magnaflows and to paint the exhaust black.
Any ideas? The body of my Camaro is orange on top (kinda close to that of a pumpkin) and black below the body line with a black hood scoop. I do plan to make it look like a Z28 in the end.
Thanks for the help in advance,
Laura

Re: What do you suggest?
Welcome to the forum. If you are looking for whichever one makes the better sound then that would be subjective go hear some soundclips on youtube. From what I've heard is that Magnaflow is loud but it doesn't have the interior resonance of a flowmaster. If your looking for power then I think a magnaflow cat back will do a little better than flowmaster
Re: What do you suggest?
No cats on my girl, lol. I did check out some sound clips on youtube of some older Chevys with V8s and no cats (I hope, lol). Think I may go with the Flowmasters. Though I've been looking around trying to find an old rod with a nice sound so I can ask them what they have.
