Tuned vs Untuned Headers

I was just thinking the other day...what are all of the benefits of a tuned header like Hookers vs a "untuned" header like Pacesetters? I was looking at them on Summit and notice some are tuned and some are not.

Thoughts?

People are making the same power with both. Sounds like a marketing gimmick to me.

I think it means that after exhausted man hours of experimentation with each pipe,in different positions, moving the header pipe up and down and all around, extending it out,and or retracting them, bending, till it produces the most horse power on a dyno,But then again, could mean the best sound, but I don't think so.

I read in the latest issue of Chevy High Performance, where they interviewed a guy with Dynomax, that for a street car or anything other than NASCAR a full out pro stock or something similar, you do not need tuned headers.

Right... this has been my understanding too, that there's really no point in puting them on a street car.
