Supercharger installed... Need help upgrading exhaust!

I have a 95 Formula that I just installed a vortech s-trim supercharger on. Its going to make around 6-7 psi the pulley that is on it now. The only thing I have done to my exhause is a Borla Cat back. I am wondering if headers and Y pipe will bennefit me much with the supercharger or not? If so shoudl I be looking at long tubes, mids, delete the cats all together? I live in Ohio and they have emissions testing but I was told that it was going to be banned next year. Any help advice would be great! thanks -Matt

Long tubes with the matching y-pipe will definitely give you better gains than the OEM crap. Deleting the cats is up to you. You will see a few HP gain in doing so. But if you have emissions testing then staying with cats may be your best bet.

I heard they sell high flow cats... will those still pass the emissions and will they work on long tube headers or would I have to go with different headers and would it be worth it if I went that route?

Headers will definitely help with a forced induction motor. You can install high flow cats in the off-road y-pipe, you would probably need a smaller length cat though in order to get it to clear the fuel/brake lines.

Will the longtubes work with an off road Y plus Hight flow cats? I know they have "mids" but I never understoud the point of getting them over a long tube... also what brand do most people go with on the LT1 and I believe they sell them with or without the hook up... I believe its an egr hook up... hopefully someone chimes in and corrects me.

Yes, just have a shop custom weld the cats into the y-pipe, that is what I did. Also, there are two types of long tubes, the "race" style and the "emissions" style. The emissions style is the one with the EGR and AIR hookups.

My 97ss 383 was converted to D1. I had to change all of my exhaust. Still use the slp short manifold with a Random 2 1/2" Y with 2 bullit cats. Flows well. Then, went with a Mufflex 3 1/2 and Spintech. Excessive backpressure due to the muffler not being straight-thru design. Converted the 3 1/2 pipe with a qtp electric dump. Really helped alot.

jet hot or kooks Headers, 3in off road pipe and 3inch high-flo cats with test pipes would help. For best results I would think about true duals
