Question Spark plug wires w/Mac headers

I will be installing the headers soon and am currently using Msd 8.5 wires. My ? is will these wires fit w/ these headers, and any problems w/length,protection(from heat)etc show up?Also these headers have a y pipe;can i use my Borla one or the one that came w/headers.Thanks for any replies.

Length-wise should be fine, as for heat, you are going to have to make sure each wire is secured away from the header primaries. You may have to use some cable ties to do this. I have seen people use either a stock wire setup or the over-the-valve cover setup on mid-length headers.

I'm pretty sure MAC offers their own y-pipe as well, that would probably be the best choice to ensure proper fitment with the headers.

OTVC looms are highly preferred, but if you've "cut to length" your MSD wires,
they might not route up to the valve covers. Here's some Made4You looms: http://picasaweb.google.com/calder.c...75703425007154

www.summitracing.com carries the Made For You looms. There may be other vendors, but that's where I got mine.

Where I buy most of my parts: Summit. For those Made4You looms,
the part # is MFY-5035613. The red in my photo is a bit off - it looks
a bit more orange than it really is. Anyway, you can get different
color looms, so if you want something other than red, you'll obviously
have to search for another part #. I think I paid something like $42.00
for those.

Thunder racing sells a kit that has the looms, wires, and crimper tool. That is who I purchased my looms from. From what I heard last, that kit was on back order, not sure if that is still the case.

Thanks for the replies guys.As for the y pipe i would assume everybody w/the mac headers uses the y pipe that comes w/them.I just thought that since the Borla was larger/and stainless steel that it might be better to use it.Any opinions on this ?

Assuming the Borla will work dimension wise, then go ahead and run it. Otherwise, if it is off, but still workable, an exhaust shop should be able to modify it to work with your MAC headers.

Thanks for the reply.Another reason i want to use the Borla one is it is staiinless steel and the Mac one needs to be ceramic coated ,as well as the headers, obviously increasing the cost.

If the main selling factor to you for the Borla is that it is stainless steel, the Magnaflow catback is also stainless steel and quite a bit cheaper.
