im sure HP is very close the LM2 i hurd is suppose to be a little quieter and more tamed because its an actual bullet muffler, the LM1 is just basically a straight through pipe, they sound pretty nice if you have stock cats and manifolds but it gets pretty loud when you get headers and hi flow cats

it sounds a little raspy on the video because it was with a digital camera but it sounds awesome in person.. idle has a nice lope for stock cam and it sounds great in the car but like everyone warned it is loud

LM2 without a doubt. i have heard TONS of different exhuast systems on tons of different cars. the only thing i like better than the sound of my car is an old big block chevy with a monster cam.

as far as new cars go, nothing compares. LM1 is too loud, and often annoying. LM2 you can still carry on a conversation, and keep it a little quiet, but when you get on it its still real loud. and people know you got it done.

i got video clips of my car on the dyno, and doing a burnout and stuff. there not on the net, but if you want i can send em to you over msn or something. shoot me a pm for my e-mail address if you want.

The LMII has become more popular than the LMI according to our sales (we are one of SLP's biggest warehouse distributors). The LMI resonator is basically a steel can with nothing in it. The LMII bullet muffler is a straight through design that is quieter without sacrificing any power.

I always recommend the LMII because the complete exhaust is the same price as the LMI, however the LMII muffler costs more than the LMI resonator. So basically, if you decide the LMII is too quiet, it is cheaper to buy the LMI resonator than it would be to switch a LMI to an LMII.

Talk about confusing!

Yea, I agree with that. I got the LMII and love it. Its loud, deep, and powerful, but you can still carry on a conversation. My buddy had the LMI (which had a good tone like the LMII, just too loud) then he swapped it out for the MagnaFlow duals. We compared ours, but both agreed the LMII has a better tone. Just my opinion, but you wont be dissappointed in the LMII

LM 2 doesnt have the rasp as the LM 1.. take a look at the tsp rumbler, the systems only around 300, loud and you have a choice of tips.

where do you see that its only 2.2" ID? its 3" then there is a little bit of a muffler which you would lose a little, sure, but thats what makes it quiet. LM I is strait pipe.

i would take a couple horsepower loss and have a car i can have a conversation in and not be embarassed to roll through my neighborhood, than to have LM I, my friend had one, sounded amazing. but after 5 minutes i was sick of it.

I just went from the LM to the LM II this last week. I had the original for about 3 years and it did sound good. It was totally loud and as time went on it got annoying. Ton's of noise inside the car, forget about long road trips. But it does sound great when you get on it. The LM II is much nicer. Cuts the noise inside the car a ton. Sounds a little more tame compared to the LM but it still sounds good when you punch it. I wish they had the LM II a few years ago. Power seems to be the same, but I didnt test anything.
I would choose the LM II if your looking for a SLP Cat-back, great quality, everything fit perfect.
