SLP Loudmouth I or Magnaflow Catback?

SLP Loudmouth I or Magnaflow Catback?

EBAY has a Loudmoth I for $375 including shipping and a Magnaflow catback for $407 including shipping. Which one flows better? Which one will tame the sound more? My car, Heads/Cam/Stall/Longtubes/ORY... no cats, no mufflers at the moment. With the current setup and the 3200 stall, the car sounds like its screaming when I'm just trying to pull away from a light under normal acceleration. I don't want to loose much flow but I need to quiet this car down. Which one do you guys think would be the better option, taking power and sound into consideration?

I bought a Magnaflow from Performancepeddler.com for around $325 shipped. I am very happy with the sound and fitment.

I had ambitions pretty similar to yours and found that the magnaflow was the way to go. Mine's still brand new in the box awaiting a head gasket repair so I can't tell you first hand how it sounds but I've heard lots of good things for the $$.

Ambitions similar to mine? On your bone stock LT1? I don't think we're going for the same thing. I'm looking for something that will be the least restrictive in comparison to my no cats/no mufflers setup. I am also looking to quiet down the roar from my heads/cam/headers/ory setup thats going to get me a million tickets.

I'm running longtubes and high performance cat's and the Magnaflow is pretty quiet at idle with a nice sound when your on it.

Well I'm the same spot you are. Sorta ... I've been going back and forth trying to decide on a good sounding exhaust system. However, If you are worried about the car sounding like your screaming and getting a million tickets I would avoid the Loudmouth. They named the exhaust very well. I know a few people that have had them on their cars and they might as well of had an open exhaust.

I would go with Magnaflow or Hooker. They both have a good tone at idle but will scream once you open them up. I'm leaning toward Hooker personally because I've had their exhaust on previous f-bodies and love its sound. That is my $.02 tho ...
