SLP 2OTL exhaust.

Now i am pretty sure i know the answer to this but i decided to ask anyway.I had my car in for inspection yesterday and this is the first time i had it on a lift and the mechanic noticed the exhaust where it goes over the axle is flated out on one side, now i argued that it is not supposed to be that way and he swears it must have been made that way,it has the SLP 2OTL exhaust and i am pretty sure it is not supposed to be flatened where the pipe goes over the axle.Isn't it suppose to be a full 3" tube all the way with no kincks in the tube?

That is just the way the STOCK exhaust is. If you ordered your 2OTL from SLP it would be all mandrel bent. But if the car came from the factory with the 2OTL on it that is how it is.

Noticed you have a '94, so I am sure it was on there when you bought the car right? Someone prolly just put someone stock 2OTL on the car, that is how it is if that's the case.

i think mine has a SLIGHT flat spot going over the axle. Im really not worried about it though, its not like it ads any restriction when the cutouts open

My 2OTL (bought from SLP) has very slight flat spot where it goes over the upper panhard bracket.

Anyone know how much the 2OTL's cost when SLP was still making them? I found a new one I'm interested in, but the guy wants like 850.00 shipped.

I think I want to make an offer, but I didn't know how that price compared to the original list. I would prefer to buy new. He said he's had it for years, so he might be willing to negotiate. And I'm not sure what would be required to make it fit my car. I don't believe it's the one SLP made for the early LT1's, which is what I have. I'm thinking it's the one for the dual cat LT1's. With headers and ORY, it may not matter. I was thinking of maybe offering $500.00, but I'm not sure what to do. The sound clips of that exhaust sound better than any I've heard.

Maybe I'll start my offers at 200.00 and see what happens. That sounds like a bargain.

No way in hell I would pay that because it is "new" you can't wear out a stainless ex system.

I had one on my 94 with MAC shorty headers and Y pipe.....EVERYONE loved that ex.

DO a search on the boards, I saw one on LS1tech for sale not too long ago.

well thanks guys,i guess i was wrong.I know one thing it looks pretty sloppy to do the exhaust that way because there is plenty of room in that spot. The exhaust was on there when i bought the car and the guy said he got it through GM as part of the F1 kit that he put on the car.
