i think ur car is too early to have the cone. i dont even think my car has it. my car is 100% stock.

My 97 SS came with the stock Z28 exhaust, the only option i didnt get was the 2OTL. I went awhile without it and in late 98' i purchased one from SLP. Does anyone know if the ones purchased from SLP had the cone? My 2OTL sound real good to me, i cant imagine it sounding louder or deeper. I just havent had the gumption to tear into it, especially since its been on the car for close to 10yrs.

 

the only 20tl exhaust that had the cone was the ones that came on the cars. because it was too loud without the cone to pass the noise test. Yours doesnt have a cone in it.
