Single vs. Dual Cut-Outs?
Single vs. Dual Cut-Outs?
On my list of spring time mods I'm going to be doing some type of cut out. I love my Magnaflow on my Z, it's nice and throaty and sounds nice, decently loud but not annoying. But sometimes I do want it to be loud and annoying so I'm going to put a cut-out on.
It's much cheaper to do one cut-out vs. two so I wanted to ask some people who have them, had them, or have info on them there opinion. Is having Dual-Cut outs worth the extra 200 or so dollars, or will a single cut-out make me happy? I don't want it to be stock car loud, just loud enough to know I'm coming. The Cut-Out will be electric for sure.
Any advice and info would be appreciated, thanks in advance

Thanks for the comments so far guys... do you think it would be too loud putting it in replace of the cat? I would like to do that but then there is also the question of the exhaust being 50 state legal, I might be moving sometime in the near future so kinda worried about that.
I've heard some good info about the DMH Electric Cut-Out so I'm probably going with that.

well there are 2 cats on your car.
driverside is bolted directly to the exhaust manifold, almost vertical. so putting a cutout in it's place is pretty much impossible. and putting it farther back in the ypipe will severly reduce clearance...particularly with the electric plate.
stick with a single cutout, just before the rear axle

i have a single cutout placed just behind the rear axle where the pipe takes a sharp bend there are no ground clearance issues and the sound coming from it is simply amazing. i haven't heard another like it... maybe it's my cam but at 2600RPM under load the interference of the sound lines up and it sounds like someone is shooting an automatic twelve gauge behind you. When it hits 7k check your pants.
I have LT's 3" y to what appears stock pipe going over axle to stock muffler sounds stock with cutout closed.
I was thinking of putting in duals after the headers to get better flow at the track but I'm not gonna touch anything else
