Shorty - Mid? Is there really a difference?

I just got some used Pacesetter Mids, now they don't look too long. How much shorter could a shorty really be? Do shorty's bolt right in place of stock manifolds up to the stock y Pipe?

I know everyone talks about the Mac Mids how do the Pacesetter Mids compare?

The shorty headers bolt directly up to the Y-pipe. Pacesetter mids are comparable in length to the Mac mids from what I have seen.

Yes, there is a definite difference. Shorties bolt up right in place of the stock manifolds, and suck. Mids are pretty good, and will definitely give you a power advantage over shorties.

Generally, the MACs are more favored of the two.

No. "Mid-length" headers is a term that gets thrown around here a lot, but there's no such thing. 1-2" difference in primary tube length doesn't put a shorty header into a different category. There's shorty headers and long tube headers, end of story.
