Replaced my slp loudmouth resonator with chambered muffler.... awesome!

hey, just posting to enlighten any of you who were thinking about replacing your loudmouth resonator with a chambered muffler. Well it turned out awesome. I got a 'medium powerstick' chambered muffler from http://www.classicchambered.com/classic/products.html

Heres the model # - 3026SB

It is a 3" muffler, with a 3 inch flowpath, so no bottleneck like with other mufflers.

The sound is great. Still loud, but it got rid of the popping when i let off the gas, plus the highway drone is virtually gone.

The only downside is that the muffler is not stainless. Not a big deal.

I give this mod

That's good to hear.

So, you have a single exit drivers side tailpipe now?

no, the muffler is just there in place of resonator. The 20 inch pipe was a perfect fit. Still duals out the back

only problem is the inner baffle is 2 1/2 " on those guys. Plus their double the price. Mine was 69 dollars shipped to my door.

I understand the .5 inch difference. If one wants stainless and doesnt want to worry about rusting. The half inch isnt a big price to pay. in performance. I originally used the stick in place of the resonator too. Now Im just running it right off the SLP Y-Pipe with a turn down. I cant find a tip thats unique enough out there to make it worth running out the rear.

Has anyone else performed this mod? What is your guess on how much it would cost to have the new chambered muffler installed at a shop?

Also, what is your guess on how long would it take before the unit rusts? When would that become a problem?

It should only cost between 30-50 dollars for them to weld it in. (mine was $38)

This unit here is aluminized steel, and depending on conditions (snow, salt, etc..) it should last a good 6-8 years easy. Mine looks brand new still after 6+ months if that helps any.

Okay guys I need help. So should I get the shortest stick from classicchambered since I'm going to put a cutout in the i-pipe also right? You guys think the 16" and cutout will both fit in the i-pipe? Or the medium one and cutout will work too? Help guys, I need to buy the parts today.
