Pacesetter Mids on 96 LT1-Check Valves won't fit.

Currently I have the EGR ports on my Single Cat style Pacesetter mids plugged off, but want to hook them up. THe problem is, the piece that came out of my dual cat manifolds will not screw into the pacesetter mids (and I've lost them now anyways).

What do I need to buy? Do I need new check valves? Will they come with the piece that screws into the headers?

Thanks in advance!

I think you're talking about the AIR system, not the EGR. The EGR is behind the passenger side manifold. Anyway I had a similar problem... they sent me headers for a 94-95 and the fittings off my 96 would not fit. Find a place that sells hydraulic fittings and start digging. The suck part is that the threads for the manifold are a different style than the threads on the check valve. I came close, the threads on the fittings I found didn't quite match my headers but I screwed them in anyway (use lots of sealent). Good luck.

My 94 might be different. I ended having to replace but sides of the air tubes. They were $17 each from the dealership and came with the valve and tube.

Yeah, I meant the AIR tube parts.

MrMint, did they come with the piece that screws into both the manifolds and the 90 degree tube that comes up to the check valve?

On my 96 SS the AIR fittings would bottom out on the threads of the Pacesetter headers before they were tight. The stock manifolds do not have threads all the way to the top where the Pacesetters do. I just got some thick washers to use as spacers and they worked great for a cheap fix. But I do think there are different sizes to the AIR fittings from 94 through 97 so check the part # on the headers to know exactly which headers you have and which AIR fittings to get.
