New Exhaust

Hi I'm new to this site and this is my first post. I have a bone stock 97 z28 and I want to first get a new exhaust system for it and then headers. I want a good sounding loud exhaust and I was thinking borla. What headers do you recommend I should get with the borla? Also how does the whole plate thing work with the exhaust is it the smaller the plate the more power and sound and can you just leave it open with no plate? Thanks

If you're planning on Borla, get ready to fork over some cash.

But it's a very nice system

You might want to get the Headers with the borla and put them in at the same time, not after the exhuast.

There are lots of good exhaust choices out there, the Borla is a good catback, just a little pricey. As for the headers, there are many options out there in terms of style, cost, and quality. What are your emission regulations like and how much do you want to spend on a set?

If you are going for sound on the new muffler setup definitely keep a cutout in mind. That way you can spend the hundreds you saved on other upgrades

thats just my opinion because i have a cutout and love it.

Borla is a good system, but I would find a cheaper system and use the $ saved for a set of headers. I agree that you should definitely put the headers and exhaust in at the same time, it'll be easier in the long run.
