muffler in Intermediate pipe? anyone done this?

Has anyone put a muffler in the intermediate pipe and had no muffler back by the gas tank on a LT header/Y pipe setup? I'm thinking of putting a muffler somewhere by where the stock cat was and just having no muffler in the stock location and a y back there to get the 2 tailpipes out the back.

SLP LM1 and LM2, as well as the TSP Rumbler have a resonator in the intermediate pipe- no muffler out back, just piping.

I have LT's and the Rumbler, and it is almost too loud for my tastes.

I have true duals into some 1 chamber flowmaster race mufflers and I love the sound outside, just way too loud inside the car, so I want to change it. I was thinking about going back to the Y-pipe and putting a flowmaster 40 series 2 chamber or some kind of muffler in the intermediate pipe and then just piping out the back.

Put a Magnaflow # 12867 (5" dia. case) in the I-pipe, you'll be happy then.
