Which Magnaflow cats?

Alright I have done a search and decided going with Magnaflow high flow cats. Which ones will give me the most flow and fit in replace of the stock cats. Right now Im looking at the Magnaflow 59959. This cat has the mettalic core and is universal 3" in / 3" out. Looking for opinions on which model. I called Magnaflow and they couldnt tell me if these were an easy fit. Also I just had a muffler eliminator put on and it sounds just ok. Will high flow cats make it sound a little better/louder?

A highflow cat will change the db rating or the sound of your exhaust note a little bit but i dont know if you would really notice. i personally think that high flow cats are a performance upgrade for bigger numbers which is what im all about.

i have a magnaflow high flow cat, I dont know the product number buts its a 3 in 3 out. I like it, it flows well, it however will quiet the car down. I dont know what you exactly mean by sounding better because thats a matter of opinion but it sounds good to me.
Do you currently have no muffler and no cat? I dont understand your current setup? Please write down you car and everything that is done to it. Be very clear and informative if want good advice.

Stock manifolds and y pipe. What I want to know is if i can just replace stock cats with small universal cats in the y and maybe add a small filler section. Or do i have to have a new y put in. The drivers side cat is welded right to the manifold flange like every other 96 - 97 f body. And theres a bend right after the cat. So can i fit a small 8" long cat in the stock y pipe and do i need it offset on the exit side of the drivers side cat? I would think this would be a common situation. Anyone whos done this please let me know.

quieter? I don't like the sound of that! This was on my list of future mods, among several other things. How much quieter, if you can say?
