I blew a head gasket in my white ’97 Z28 last Wednesday. Once I started tearing it apart it became obvious that it was going to be off the road for a while. I also have a red ’97 Z28 that I had already started tearing down to ready it for some gofast parts. I took the Borla catback off the red car and put it on the white car because the red one will eventually be getting true duals. The water pump and a few other things were removed from the red car also.

Long story short, I got the red car together and running but it has no catback. I don’t want to pull the Borla off of the white car and put it back on the red one.

In order to get the red car on the road I want to just clamp a small muffler to the end of the stock y-pipe and clamp a little turn down to the back end of the muffler. Can someone suggest a muffler that I could get locally (like Advance or NAPA) that would work for this application? Thanks for the help.

 

Just make one, Or get a cheap one off of ebay...i saw a flowmasters for 20 bucks.

 

Any muffler from Advance or Napa should work as long as it's the right size inlet. Just get the cheapest turbo muffler you can find since they are usually the quietest aftermarket muffler and you're gonna be dumping the exhaust right under your passengers butt.

 

get a dynomax bullet muffler. thats what i got on the back of my y-pipe and longtubes. sounds good.
