How hard would this be/price?

Alright, i want a new exhaust setup. i was thinking true duals, but come out in front of both rear wheels and put old a z28 style tip (flat rectangles). I mainly want a new/unique look, as well as a louder sound. right now, i have the dual/dual magnaflow catback, with gutted cats. How much would this typically run and how much of a sound difference is there?

sound difference will depend on the mufflers used on the duals. although no matter what you go with it will be louder in the car due to the location of the exits.

realize that you're gonna lose ALOT of clearance with that setup. there is not much room for a side exit exhaust. you'll probably be down to about 2" of clearance by the time you run the pipe out the side.

better off dumping it.

as for cost. varies. but you can probably put together a duals setup for under $300 with the use of a universal Xpipe or Hpipe kit and some extra tubing and mufflers

my muffler suggestion is magnaflow 4x9s...

i had a custom exhaust put on my 1989 formula 350, i cut out the converging i pipe, and have one 2.5" pipe coming out of each cat and exiting right in front of the rear wheels on which a dual chrome tip is mounted on each side, to make sure i had enough ride height the setup is run under the tranny tunnel and uses two bullet type mufflers - very loud and very free flowing. The whole setup cost me only $290, much cheaper than a brand name setup and much better performance. I had the original exhaust on the car and can only tell you how much better it breaths with the new setup.
