Hooker vs Pacesetter
Anybody have any dyno evidence on whether Hooker Super Comp LT's or Pacesetter LT's produce more HP and torque on a stock LT1? I have a 95 Formula I want to run in IHRA pure stock and will be running the headers thru race mufflers only. The engine must remain "stock". I looked at some stepped Hedman's, but was told they would probably kill the bottom end on a completely stock motor. Any info is appreciated!!

pacesetters are junk. their quality control sucks. Their numbers are good so i ordered some. i had to trim 1/2" off of the motor mounts just so they would fit (yes, they were the right ones for the car). they almost touche everything possible. the welds on the headers are all splattery and there was some large pieces of metal sticking off of the collector that i had to cut off. the coating is cheap and only on the outside. the price is great, but not worth it. get some jet hots or hookers with the jethot coating. friend has those and his fit and finish is a 100 times better, although they were harder to install.
You pay for what you get basically. Granted the Pacesetters are a decent long tube, they are also cheap in price so they are not going to have the quality that a Kooks set would have to offer. But yes, the welds on mine were sloppy and there was alot of splash. Also, the EGR fitting on the header would not clear the tranny dipstick so I had to heat up the fitting with a torch and bend it to make it clear. As for the Pacesetter coating, we will leave that topic unsaid.
