Header design question.

ok so i am looking at various styles of headers and have noticed a desgin difference.

Pacesetters

Hooker Super Comp - I put a red box around the (union) or area i was talking about.

Notice in the first pic the 1st primary tube goes up and back for the drivers side, then down kinda between 3 and 4. With the Hookers it goes down AROUND the steering linkage. My real question here is what all Brand names design there headers that way? And how well dose that union seal since I would not imagine you put any kind of clamp on it.

I've never had a problem with my Hookers, dabbed some red silicone on them and they were good to go. (and they still are)

Well thats good to know. I'm still wondering what other brand names make there headers that way? Long Tubes is like one of the common mods people do...so i know there are more people out there with some knowledge on the subject.
