header burns threw plugwire

need help asap im drivin to kentucky fri! ok next time i want to modify or work on my car kick me in the nuts and have a profesional do it. i was checking my header bolts as a few backed out earlier and was just checkin them and noticed some flashing under the driver side header. it looks like the header burned threw the wire which could help explain why its been running like crap. now im no mechanic ( but i do know the difference between brake fluid and oil ) but how should i go about this. can i just change one wire or do i have to change all( only have about 8k on plugs and wires). is it a easy job or a PITA? also how do i go about rerouting them with out takin the header off? can it be done? Im an idiot i know.

What kind of wires do you have? I know that if they're MSD then you can just call them up and have them send you a single new plug wire. You're not gonna do any damage to your car by only changing out one wire.

You should be able to bend the boots on your wires. So bend them away from the header primaries. That should prevent them from getting charred next time.

change the ones that are burnt and re-install the metal wire caps that originally came with the car (they are there for a reason).

You don't need to take the header off to re-route wires. What kind of wires are you using? Are you using the stock routing setup? Replace the damaged wire and try to secure them all away from the header primaries by using cable ties. If you aren't using an over-the-valve cover wire setup, it might be something worth considering as well.

pretty much the stock setup between the headers and block.

like 200GTP said.. its not a bad idea to look into an otvc setup.. i was having similar arcings issues with the header burning my plug wires.. i went with the setup on the right and couldnt be happier.. just get a set of DIY wires and the brackets.. took me about 4-5 hours and was relatively easy..
