Finally..True Duals this week

Hey guys

i have to say, i hate used cars, especially camaros with 105k miles on them that were beat on to begin with, i realized i wont make a dime if i try to sell her so i might as well work with what i have!!

right now she has hooker super comp longtubes and a terrible straight 3" pipes we threw on for now, this is making the car run pretty bad so im going to pay the money and have a full custom true dual exhaust done this week.

it will be 2.5 inches, all the way back, into turbo mufflers or something that flows and will give me the most horsepower, custom H pipe, and custom bent over the rear end and out the back with 2.5 inch tips, im pretty excited, it will run me 7-800 bucks.

any ideas how much power gain i should expect? hooker super comps to 2.5 inch H pipe to 4x9 magnaflow mufflers out the back with 2.5 inch tips.

900 bucks for everything.

i would imagine about 35... i did just true duals on top of my stock manifolds and could instantly feel a large increase in power.... i dont know how to turn this to nubers, but if i had to guess. id say around 35 plus or minues 10. lol.

ya 35, I would say 15 or so. You should be able to feel it and for that to happen its around 14-16 gain. Have you thought about running a x pipe instead. They are said to make more power?

ive heard the gain was much more then 15 horsepower, ive also heard an x pipe makes more power but im guessing its not that much, an H pipe will fit better and sound a little better

I would guess gains in the ballpark of 10-15.

so you guys are guessing gains of 10-15 for the entire system including full length headers over the stock exhaust with manifolds? damn, i thought about 25-30 rwhp and more for torque...o well, more money i have to spend to get into the high 12's haha.

I'm guessing just 10-15 for the true duals alone. Including the headers, I would guess gains of around 30+ hp at the wheels.

oh i see, sweet man, i know the car moved pretty well with some leaks and a single dumped bullet off a 3" Y, right now with the straight 3" pipes the low end is pretty bad, but the top end is good, i hope this really makes the car move

So the duals were done today, as far as quality and craftsmanship the job is top notch perfect, and it looks great, however.

im not all too pleased with the sound, its pretty quiet for my taste at idle and at WOT, although at WOT the car skips pretty bad, im getting that taken care of next, even from the back standing the car isnt that loud or aggressive.

he told me the mufflers will break in and get louder, if not i may have them changed.

overall, im pretty happy.

Check out my new 3" true dual setup, using 3" pipe off of each long tube to (2) Dynomax bullet mufflers, using a 3" jegs h-pipe in between...its on a 383 and as u can see dumped and turned before the rear axles.

I like it A LOT more then my long tube ----> Y-pipe ------> slp loudmouth
