Exhaust wrap question

so, i wrapped my turbo kit with DEI exhaust wrap and used the silicone spray to seal it n such. When i stated it, the wrap itself was smoking. Is this just because its curing, or what?

This is normal ... it will stop smoking after a series (10-20) of heat/cool cycles. A few wot runs will "cure it" sooner, though even after the smoking stops you may occasionally get a very mild "epoxy" smelling aroma. Call it the "sweet smell of successful performance enhancement"!
