Exhaust Reviews - Post your setup!

Proof of the best LT and Y setup!

__________________________________________________ __________________________

I see a lot of Exhaust threads here. There are people looking for diversity, bang for the buck, sound, performance and fitment.

Lets try to throw them all into one thread.

Post what you have, how much you spent, Fitment, Opinion of this setup, Quality and Sound (link for videos...or go to www.ls1sounds.com)... Please try to not downgrade a certain product. Others might like it for one reason or the next.

Heads/Cam/LS6 intake.. TO name a couple..
I have SLP Long Tube headers 1.75" Primaries, 3" collector
Off Road Y
TSP Rumbler CB
I also used my stock manifold bolts. After a couple times of re-snugging them, They're seated pretty well..

I think this combo sounds great. It's pretty loud, but I have a high tolerance for a loud exhaust..

DELETED - DEAD LINKS

The headers are double coated, so they will last a long time. The driver's side header slipped right in. The pass side header took a little more work. But they do fit. I personally wouldn't recommend these for someone who is looking to lower their car. The power is definetly there. The Y-pipe and all other components fit in their respected spots w/ out too much headache.

I spent $1200 for the complete header set. Headers, cats, and Y-pipe. It came w/ the O2 sensor extensions, clamps, gaskets and hangers.

The Borla Adjustable exhaust was on the car when I bought it, but it is valued at around $700-$900 (depending on where you buy it).

Re: Exhaust Reviews.

I've got your back brother. Luckily it just so happens that I love to talk about my setup.

-RK Sport (AS&M) mid length 1.75" headers and off road Y pipe, ceramic coated
-Magnaflow high flow cat
-GMMG chambered exhaust, oval tips

Used ARP header bolts and Percys aluminum gaskets.

Bought the entire setup used from board members, except for the bolts/gaskets and cat. The headers I picked up for $300, and the GMMG; $500.

I LOVE this setup. It's got an awesome tuned, yet retro musclecar sound. Everybody that hears it in person is just in love with it. I think I've sold about 5 more of these for GMMG... They should send me a badge, decal or somethin.

The headers, I bought these mids because of the smog plumbing. But they sound great either way, they are the same diameter primary tubes as you find on long tubes.

I think soon I'm going to throw on an electric cutout in front of the cat just for kicks, though.

Re: Exhaust Reviews.

Here's a pic of the muffs, with 2.5" true duals on the '95 LT1, Kooks 1 7/8 LTs, 3" Pypes Cats, and Dynatech 4.5x7" oval muffs.

These muffs are straight thru with a thin "splitter" down the center.
With the stock cam, it made my LT1 car just a bit louder than my stock LS1 car.
My wife drives this car, so its not that loud, not near as loud as I was afraid it might be with straight thru design mufflers. But it has a very nice deep rumble to it, I'm thinking about putting them on my truck and GN as well.
My truck with shorties, cats and flowmasters is louder.
As far as price, about $100 per muff, $70 per cat, and Jeg universal 2.5" duals and 3" X-pipe I did myself...

Re: Exhaust Reviews.

I've got the GMMG setup as well. But that is the only exhaust mod, stock manifolds, Y-Pipe, etc.

It has in my opinion the perfect sound. I want to do headers, but almost fear it will change the sound to something I am not as happy with. It is moderate in volume until you get on it, then it sounds really opened up, deep, and clean. Plus I think it looks better than anything else out there...

Re: Exhaust Reviews.

no pics at the moment

edelbrock shortys
no cat
exhaust leak at the straight pipe
borla exhaut, with full plate

its real quiet at idle, has a nice sound after 2k because then the exhaust leak drowns out

when full throttle pegging the rev limiting, it screams!!! sounds amazing at 3k and up IMO

people tell me that its actually really loud when getting on it on the streets also

I have a high flow cat i wanna put in, that way i can open the plates a bit and avoid lots of rasp
