You really need an electric one and it can be set to any noise level you want. It will sound like a race car and then stock in seconds. I keep mine 1/3 open and it sounds perfect. This is one of the best mods for the price you can buy.

Should not be able with it closed to tell it has a cutout.

I have a single 3 1/2" Qtp. With my app (97ss 383ci - D1) I had an air flow problem. With the qtp, it allowed the engine to breath. I usually have it partially open with a single chambered muffler and 3 1/2" Mufflex single outlet exhaust system. Also run a 3 1/2" 3 disc CCI insert for resonance control. B.

If you do a search using "cutout" in the exhaust section you can read for hours.

Mine sounded good really good! But it was way to loud and it often became annoying on longer drives or when i wanted to talk to someone in my car or listen to the radio. As far as gains yes you will feel an increase deffinatly!

Today i installed a Magnaflow catback and the muffler that comes with it is a straight through design and it flow's really well and sounds ohh so much better!
