hey guys im soon puttin on my pacesetter LT's and was wondering if they only hook up to pacesetter y pipes. also im gettin a killer deal on install at a buddies shop, how much time should it take for them to get the stockers off and lt's on, they figured 4-5.

 

I haven't heard of anyone using something different other then a custom made y-pipe. Even though the classification of long tube headers is the same, when you compare pictures of the various brands, you can pinpoint differences in the design that I would guess would be enough to throw off the measurements and not allow the y-pipes of different vendors to work with each other. If the work is done by a shop that has previous experience with these cars and maybe even has a couple guys working on the car, I could easily see the job being done in 4-5 hours.

 

TSP makes a y pipe for Pacesetter LTs.

 

They make a y-pipe for the LS1 Pacesetters which design does differ a bit from the LT1s. They don't make an exclusive y-pipe for the LT1 Pacesetters to my knowledge.
