Cutouts

I have a cutout sitting in my garage and have been thinking about having someone weld it on for me. I haven't put it on because i don't know if it will pass emissons with it on, I have also herd something about that they are illegal just to have on ur car so im not sure. Also if i were to put it on where should i have it welded? After the headers and before the cat? Or somewhere after the cat?

If you have exhaust leaks in your system, then that could technically cause you to fail emissions. As long as you keep it capped at the testing center, you shouldn't have any problems. As for placement, the spot right before the rear axle is the common spot for many of us.

yea i'd put it rigth before the axle, after the cat...if its before the cat IMO it sounds like ***..although i run one and dont have any cats. A friend of mine has one on a almost stock 95 TA (cai, cutout before cats) and it sounds horrible..backfires and really raspy too.

Yeah do it after the cat/axle. Much better sound IMO and easy quick access.

Have it put in right before the pipes go over the rear axle.
