No the cat doesn't have to be removed in order to install a cutout. The common place to install would be the area right before the rear axle.

best performance is right behind the headers, i have no idea why you'd put it back by the rear axle behind the cat,

but in california you might need the cat even when racing if i remember correctly,

also i believe they are a race only mod, you may want to check with the manufacturer of your cutouts before you buy them and see if they know anything, the california dmv might not be too happy about you asking them about their legallity

haha yeah DMV is never too happy about anything. I was most likely planning on DMH electric cutout. So when i buy it, could i just bring it to an exhaust shop and tell they were it should go or what? anyone have a thought of the price range to install? thanks for all the help everyone.
