Cat question
Cat question
I have a rattle that is hard to explain but it only makes the noise as I am reving up to shift. I am wondering if the cat could have something broke inside and be making the noise. I know it's not the trans because I have replaced it and it does the same thing. It seems to be coming from the passenger side in that area. Any idea's.
Assuming you have a dual cat y-pipe, which some 95s did, it could very well be the cat on the passenger side that is rattling. It could also be the heat shield that broke free and is resting on top of the exhaust pipe. It is definitely worth getting under there and taking a look.
I'm gonna take a look tonight
The car sounds good but it is kinda silly when this horrible rattle starts while you reving up. Makes people think it's gonna fall apart or something.LOL I am just hoping it's know big deal.
I had one of those rattles. I run a 383ci with a D1 Procharger. It turned out that the cat was blown out. I had an aftermarket Random dual cat Y. The D1 bleu out the Rt bank into the exhaust. Had to beat the core out of the exhaust pipe. So, this failure could happen. It sounds like a bucket of blots ratteling. Hope this helps. B.
Well i am wondering if it is a blown cat because i got under the car and the shield is not loose. If I floor it I don't hear a thing. if i take it easy right before it is going to shift it starts rattling. It seems to be less when it's warmed up but it still does from time to time. kinda sounds like crap because the car sounds and runs so well and then this stupid rattle starts and i bet people are laughing. LOL you know what i mean. It kills the whole presence of the car.
