Ball Connectors?

My brothers cobra has ball connectors everywhere on the exhaust and they don't leak and its really easy to take apart if something happens.

My question is can I cut the 3 bolt flange off the hookers and weld the 3" to 2 1/2" ball connector on there for a little more ground clearence and not have to worry about blowing out gaskets or anything? I know summit sells the flowmaster ball connectors for something like $50, but does anyone else make them a little cheaper?

Let me know how this would work or should I just keep the 3 bolt flange?

Thanks

I bought flowmaster 3" ball and sockets for my pacesetters. I havent put them on yet, but from what it looks like, Its gonna have more clearence than before and be easier to take apart

Exactly, and with the Hookers the flange makes the exhaust hang lower than the pacesetters.

Heres the link for the flowmaters http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Does anyone else make these?
