Anyone Try Magnaflow Bullets

I'm going to be upgrading to Pacesetter LTs and Summit X pipe and some sort of mufflers LOL. I was planning on going with Magnaflow 4x9s but then I saw in summit that they have their 4" round mufflers for $65 each instead of $85 for the 4X9s

Heres the "bullets"

And the 4X9s

Now to me the $40 that I would save with the "bullets" helps a little, but I know these cars don't have alot of room under them and the bullet type would help me alot in that case. But aslo I don't want somethine thats extremely loud, I want a nice rumble at idle and cruising, but when I step on it I want to hear it and the Magnaflow has that sound in the 4X9s, but I haven't ever heard the bullet type mufflers to compare yet. Do you thing that the bullet muffler would be louder then the 4X9 (which is what I assume) and by how much?

Anyway enough rambling from me LOL if you have a sound clip of the Magnaflow "bullets" to compare to the 4X9s please post it up for me, otherwise I guess I'll find out for my self, hopefully soon

Heck, if you wanna be loud like that, get Dynomax Bullet's which are around $33/each and sound great.

Thats the thing, I don't want it to be loud. I want a noticeable exhaust note when cruising and loud when on it hard. I have a bullet on my car right now and its too loud for my taste. I'm hoping that the magnaflows are a little quieter or else I'll have to buy another set of mufflers. The only mufflers that I like loud are the 40 series flowmasters, but those just sound so badass IMO but I don't think I have the room for them.

if you're worried about "loud" at all...i'd stick with the 4x9s...

they keep my cammed LS1 very tame through my duals...

comparison of straight pipes to the 4x9s...almost can't hear it in the video untill i rev it. vids were on the same day, with out moving the camera...

straight pipes
mufflers

Yeah I have seen your clips before. You have any in the car while crusing? And how about a drive by while accelerating hard? I'd really like to hear how that sounds, even though I know my car will sound completely different. Everyone around here is trying to get me to order the 40 series Flowmasters and I love the sound, but I don't really want something that obnocious (SP) and a friend of mine has a magnaflow cat back on his LS1 with hooker LTs and O/R y-pipe and that sounds really good, but it comes off revs and pops and I don't really like that. I want a smooth sounding muffler that you can really hear when I'm on it hard and I think the magnaflows are what I want but I'm not sure what ones to get LOL

I have a couple of Magnaflow bullets on my Z and they are loud. They flow really well as I can hear my stock cam loping a little.

I went with Edelbrock SDTs in 304 stainless and they sound great at idle, not too loud and sound like a BBC motor at WOT...Got some resonance in the cabin from dumping them before the axle but they sound great...Also the 3" versions are only 3 5/8" thick so they are great for ground clearance..They must flow well because there are local guys running high 8s and low 9s with them...

...I know I need to make/post a clip...maybe today...

Texas, how do they compare to the dynomax bullets? About the same or a little quieter?

ABA383, a buddy of mine just put an edelbrock cat back on his 3rd gen, I moght have to check out how it sounds and then make my decision.

But if you guys can get sounds clips it would help me out alot, but right now I think I blew my motor at 120,000 miles so me and my brother are going to drop it out this weekend and see what I broke but right now it looks like a complete rebuild and LE1 upgrade, but I'll have to see what the wife will let me do LOL

I have the 16" bullet in place of my catalytic converter, works well and souds great.

However I noticed thatwhen it was last off the cage like material on the inside is buckled and cracked, not sure how this happened but I want to replace the bullet sometime soon.

I would like to find another similar muffler that I can use to replace my cat.
