anyone running a LT1/Corsa or B&B TriFlow cat back ?

I have a mostly stock '96 Z/28 with a GM SS hood and ram air box. I'm looking into starting on the exhaust for some better sounds and HP increases. First on the agenda I'd like to get a good catback for it but I really don't want it to be loud. I live 2 blocks from our suburban police dept. and they are full of "Barney Fife" types. I had a Borla on a '95 Z/28 I used to have and it was ok but was wondering if the Corsa or B&B was any better sounding. The full block off plate on the Borla was near stock sounding but the smallest open Borla plate was TOO loud. I ended up drilling a 3/4" hole in the original full block off plate for a nice compromise. It sounded real good and no popping on deceleration. I've heard good things about the Magnaflow but from some of the vids I've seen/heard they seem pretty loud. Anyone running the Corsa with stock manifolds? Or has anyone tried the B&B Tri Flow? Once I find the cat back I want, this winters project will be headers.

Corsa exhaust

Way too loud in my estimation! i have a Corsa and I added a Moroso spiral flow in line after the cat and a Tapered perforated cone before the cat, a Random Free Flow cat. in my attempt to quite it down.
The exhaust sound measures 102 db 12" away behind the exhaust tips at 850 RPM idle, great sound by the way. My neighbor policeman said that it sounds like a ticket to him and I can explain the sound to the Judge or just send in the 125$ fine, my choice..but he will not be awakened again by my exhaust.
The problem that is the worst part, is that the sound levels inside the car, @ 2000 to 2500 RPM and 70 MPH=90db. Headace city.
My cousin, recently puchased a 2010 Camaro and put a SLP exhaust on it and then removed it two months later because of the noise. Sad but true.
Good luck let me know what you decide, Ted

I like the looks of the Corsa tips but heard similar loud noise complaints about them. I heard good things about the B&B Tri Flow system and just bought one of those instead. I'll post the updates when it arrives and I get it installed. Thanks for your input.

Anyone here tried the B&B series cat back?

Corsa is the best sounding catback hands down. However your playing a game that you really cant win on. Stock exhaust is restrictive to keep the velocity of exhaust gas down which in return quiets it down. Aftermarket catbacks are designed to flow better in return gives you power gain, which also gives you a different louder exhaust note. Ive never heard B&B in person but it will be just as loud as the other IMO. Corsa was the quitest in cabin catback ive owned. Has no drone. It does get loud though when you are into the throttle just like any other good flowing, name brand catback. If I were you, id get an SLP Dual/Dual or stock exhaust and use a cutout with some aftermarket tips.

corsa cat back

The insides of a O.E.M. muffler are made with 2" diameter pipe with some being perforated or louvered tubing, again, a 6" long X 2" pipe that link the chambers together. the outlet pipes from the muffler measure 2-1/8 " The pipe from the cat to the where it enters the muffler is 2-1/2"
I wonder if the inside pipes of the muffler were changed to 3" diameter also the outlet pipes, using the same design that the G.M. engineers did, will improve the flow and quite it down a bit?

What do Ferrari's and Porche' s do?
