I do not personaly know much about the slp loudmouth. But I have heard good things about it for the lt1 in both catagorys of power and sound.

I love my Loudmouth. It was my first mod, and definitely added some power. It beats the crap out of the stock catback, and if you like loud and raspy, its definitely the way to go. This is what it sounded like on my car before headers and with stock cats:

The only problem I had was when my car was still auto, the loss of backpressure gives you a little loss in 4th gear from about 40-50mph. Not a big concern really.

I've had a loudmouth on several cars, my dad has as well as my brother. I like it but for me its not quite loud enough and without cats its TOO loud. But then again I like loud just not loudmouth with not cats loud. As far as performance goes it's as freeflowing as you can get seeing how its basically a straight pipe all the way back. If you're looking for cheap hp it would be a great way to go. Being stainless is a plus as well. I just so happen to have one for sale. PM me if you are interested. Just took it off my 94 hawk.

Borla is awesome no doubt, had one with a built 355 with longtubes, no cats and sounded AWESOME but I don't have it anymore and they will set you back quite a bit more than a loudmouth.

I've heard that the Loudmouth 1 is pretty raspy. And after hearing a lot of different clips, I'd go with the Loudmouth 2. It's not quite as loud, but it's also not nearly as raspy. I planned on going with a Loudmouth 2 setup, but decided that I'm going to go with true duals instead.

I have the SLP Loudmouth 1 system on my 94 Z28 and love it. I recently bought the car already built, and its pretty much how I would have done it. Its a 383, 6 speed, LOTs of goodies, Pacesetter shorty headers, 3" y-pipe, cat delete, and the SLP exhaust. Yes its loud, yes it draws attention, but I like how it sounds. But when I hit the highway running 70-75mph in 5th and 6th its not bad at all, in fact in 6th I consider it quiet.

you'll loose a little down low, and gain top-end. (Mind this is on a completely stock car, except for cai)

I love LM1. I can't afford it so I'm trying to put a muffler eliminator in place of my flowmaster muffler and putting a chambered "power stick" somewhere further up.

You might try looking on ebay. I bought my LM1 for $275 a year ago, brand new.

I'm however thinking about going to a true dual setup, once it get's a little warmer here in Wyoming (shop is an ice chest right now, and also a mess) If I do I'll shoot you a PM. Probably would sell it for a $100 to a fellow f-body enthusiast like yourself.

So keep that in mind...

Has to do with where you want to make your power. The less backpressure, the higher up in the RPMs your power band moves.
