Happy Fathers Day! Let’s make sure that your Fathers Day wish includes attending CAMARO SUPERFEST!

Sorry for the delay in updates this past 2 weeks. First there were some download problems from PayPal. NO, your info and registrations are fine – we just couldn’t get to them for a day or two. Next was the great Camaro Homecoming and Ontario Camaro Club Nationals in Canada last weekend. Kept us very busy getting ready for and attending that event. BUT, we’re back on track today!!

As you can see, registrations have taken a nice jump to 142… so far! I seem to remember we had about 170 pre-registrations last year, so we’re not far behind that mark. We could actually meet or exceed last years number, but my mail box would have to get pretty full (which would be a cool thing!!).

Speaking of REGISTRATION… ONLINE registration WILL SHUT DOWN on Thursday, June 23 at 12 noon!!! This is to allow us time to get one more web update and then concentrate on all those final details for the show. MAIL-IN registrations should also be sent no later than this same date OR sooner!! Thisis to allow enough time to mail you back your acceptance letter, if you did not provide an email address. As of today, ALL acceptance letters are out – about 98% email and a few by regular mail. If you have not received this letter, please email or call me ASAP!! (734-397-5182 5pm-10pm please)

NEW NEWS- yes, we always have new news to tell you about!! Like many other Camaro events, CAMARO SUPERFEST will be joining others with Chevrolet in supporting CELL PHONES FOR SOLDIERS! We’ll have a bin/basket/container at EVENT HQ for you to bring in your used cell phones, so that they can be used by our Service Men and Women who are protecting our freedoms. We’ll even try to have a prize for the person that donates the most cell phones, so gather them from your friends and neighbors!

Speaking of our Service Men and Women, once again we are please to announce that our great friends at USMA (United Street Machine Association) have donated to us, two super nice Veteran Awards. These will be given out on Sunday by a random draw from a list of names of participants that are Veterans. If you are a registered participant and a Veteran, just stop by Event HQ to give us your name and branch of service. Thank-You for your Service!!

Speaking of charity efforts… as you have read before, we are donating to Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids, in honor of Doug Warren, deceased President and founder of the Western Michigan Camaro Club. We’re supporting them through Silent Auctions and raffles and ALL spectators money we collect at the gate. We are pleased to announce that Doug’s original Camaro, his 1974 Z28, which was recently rebuilt by WMCC members for Doug, will be on display at Camaro Superfest, in his honor and as a tribute to him. Doug and WMCC were a large part of CSF history and we are honored by this display!

Our vendor area this year is shaping up to be one of the best! While our event sponsors all get a space, we have another 5-8 registered or going to register. Plus we always get a few walk-ins at the gate on Saturday morning. A good vendor area is another plus to attending CAMARO SUPERFEST!

Lastly, as you might notice from the Registration History, we have about 85 registered people to attend our Friday activities of tours and the movie TRANSFORMERS 3 !! We have been in contact with the theater and now have a limit of 120 people. Thus… ticket availability on Thursday night and Friday morning registration could be VERY limited, or not available at all! If you have already pre-registered and want to add these activities onto your registration, go to the registration page and do it again, but only fill out the Friday activities. THEN – email myself or our web-dude and let us know you have added this to your existing registration. We still have quite a bit of room for the Saturday night Poker Run… so please consider adding that too!

Well, ONE more update to come and only 10 more days until CAMARO SUPERFEST officially starts! See you very soon!!

HEY... we've got ONE week to go!!! This is our LAST web update before the event! Thanks to everyone that has pre-registered!
ANNOUNCING.................!!!
We are VERY pleased to announce that the production 2012 ZL1 Camaro and the 2010 American Pride Camaro will be on display at CAMARO SUPERFEST on Saturday, July 2nd at our event site, Riverside Park, Ypsilanti, MI. PLUS, there will be 1 or 2 more Camaros brought out... not positive what these will be??!! Thanks Scott Settlemire and the GM-Chevrolet team for providing these great Camaros for display!
As a reminder.... Online Registration HAS CLOSED! Please also DO NOT send a registration in the mail, as it may not get here in time for us to respond. However, you can register AT THE DOOR. YUP, you can register on Thursday night from 6pm-9pm or Friday morning from 7am-9am at the HQ Hotel - the Marriott. Then all registrations will happen AT Riverside Park on Saturday and Sunday all day, both days.
I've emailed with our guest speakers and they are very pleased to be able to attend and talk with their favorite customers - Camaro owners! I hope you will be there Friday night for the MEET-GREET-DINNER and/or Saturday night at the Poker Run.
Well... t-shirts and awards ordered, the phone is ringing with people asking about the show and vendors wanting spaces, my garage is filling up with goodie bag items (we may return to our imfamaous 8lb goodie bag!!), port-a-johns and judging tent are ordered and our printer is very busy with all our forms-judging sheets and event program. Here is the official CAMARO SUPERFEST 2011 wrap-up!!
First – THANKS to our sponsors who helped make this year’s event a HUGE success!! With their help, we were able to offer CSF for FREE or NEAR-FREE in cost to our participants! Don’t know if we’ll be able to do that again in 2012, but we’ll see where sponsorships take us later this year.
Next – THANKS to all of our participants! Thanks for attending and we hope you had the greatest Camaro-time of your summer! We had a high registration of 326 with the actual on-site Camaro count of 309 for the weekend! Very cool! While not a record for us (we had 550 in 2002-2003) it gets us back into what we consider to be “major event” status! Any event that can draw 300+ cars, let alone 300 of ONE Make and Model, is a major event! Thanks again for helping us reach this status! With this new level of participation we believe we can say-
"CAMARO SUPERFEST is the Longest Running, Best,
Friendliest and Largest ALL year ALL Camaro event in the USA!" Thanks to our spectators, who gave generously at the gate toward our charity, Ronald McDonald House. Plus add in thanks again to our participants who did well at our silent auctions and 50-50 raffle to boost our charity efforts to a $3300 donation! When we can have fun with our favorite car, plus help others, it’s a huge win-win for everyone!
Other Camaro Superfest stats to consider-
We had Camaros and families from 13 states and Canada!
We were the first Camaro event to display 2 ZL1 Camaros!
We were the first event to display a WHITE ZL1 with an auto trans and sun roof!
We had a great vendor display with major companies displaying their parts and accessories!
We had great weather!
We had 102 Camaros get judged and awarded close to 84 class awards and 12 special awards!
That’s a pretty good list of event stats and firsts! We hope to be able to add to that list in 2012!

Finally, some “house-keeping” items for you-
If you attended and did not have the chance to purchase an event t-shirt, here is your opportunity. Event shirts are on sale for $15 each any size and that includes shipping to you. All of the purchasing instructions are on our website- www.camarosuperfest.com
If you had your Camaro judged and would like your judging sheets, these are available to you by sending us a self addressed stamped envelope (business #10 size please) and we will mail them back to you. Send to- CSF Judging Sheets 43642 Lotus Dr Canton, MI 48188 PLEASE include a note with your name, car number and class so we can find your sheets faster.

Our dates for 2012 have not yet been determined. Our tradition of being on or near the 4th of July has us in question, because the 4th is on Wednesday in 2012, so will we be the weekend before or the weekend after? We have already started checking with the park schedule to see which dates are possible. We will announce our 2012 dates as soon as possible, so you can start planning to attend!

PRESS RELEASE
Eastern Michigan Camaro Club, sponsored by Bill Crispin Chevrolet Saline, MI presented a check to Ronald McDonald House for $3650 on Monday, Aug 22, 2011 6pm at Bill Crispin Chevrolet. This donation was raised at the 20th annual all Camaro event – Camaro Superfest. CAMARO SUPERFEST is hosted by EMCC every summer. This year 309 Camaros from 12 states/Canada attended. Spectator admissions, raffles and silent auctions were used to raise the $3650. A different charity is chosen each year. RMcDH was chosen in honor of Doug Warren, a great friend and President/Founder of the Western Michigan Camaro Club in Grand Rapids, who passed away before Christmas.
